The demand for bandwidth in optical networks increases every year due to the requirement to feed dedicated and targeted services. Typical examples are locally differing TV-programs as well as broadband internet access or Voice over IP.

Using BKtel’s DWDM solutions bandwidth can be added according to the actual demand, even a subsequent upgrade is possible. With DWDM, multiple optical signals on dedicated wavelengths carrying several services can be transmitted on one optical fiber. The signals are combined or divided with DWDM multiplexers or demultiplexers. Single signals can be dropped or added with optical add/drop multiplexers. BKtel’s special gain flattened optical amplifiers provide an almost uniform gain for signals covering even a broad wavelength range.
