BKtel V-OLT: Ultra Compact Video Optical Line Termination Unit

BKtel Video-OLTBKtel extends its RF Overlay product portfolio with a new ultra-compact video optical line termination unit. The V-OLT is an integrated Central Office solution especially designed for the extension of FTTH data/voice networks with RF video overlay functionality. The form factor of the V-OLT is compatible with G (E)PON-equipment and can terminate up to 256 OLT ports, with typically 64 subscribers each. Optimal space utilization in the Central Office and the modularity of the system allows flexible grow scenarios for the network operator: Basic components such as power supply, subrack, and management unit are preinstalled. The modular optical amplifier and WDM couplers are installed when the network size is growing. For optical connection BKtel is going an innovative way by using ribbon fiber (MPO) connectors. In this way the fiber optic cabling becomes very simple.

The V-OLT is especially targeting the market of large scale GPON installations demanding straight forward and space economic installation. With increasing density of GPON ports up to 114 ports in 10 U the V-OLT can be installed in one 19’’ rack, 30 cm deep together with 2 GPON OLTs. The V-OLT allows keeping up with the latest technology, but also making an intelligent and economical investment decision that delivers top performance and value for FTTH installations.

• 1310 nm & 1490 nm /1550 nm wavelength multiplexers for combining RF video

• Suitable for installation in 300 mm deep racks, 11 U high
