Due to increasing data volumes and transmission speeds, the
requirements for time synchronization in data centers are also
growing. Coordinating data streams in a network requires very
low latency and precise timing. Also mobile communication
coverage - for example at large event venues and for distributed
antenna systems (DAS) - need good synchronization. The new
HUBER+SUHNER`s GNSS over Fiber solution not only offers
the transmission of accurate timing information from satellite
GPS signals, but also enables the power supply of the active
antenna via fiber.
Usually, the power supply of the active GNSS antenna is
provided by using a conventional power connection. Now the
additional power supply becomes unnecessary, as the fiber optic
connection of the antenna takes over this part and can transport
the received data almost loss-free over longer distances in the
same time.
The new GNSS and power-over-fiber solution operates with
existing infrastructures and can be easily upgraded to meet
future challenges.
The benefits at a glance:
•
Cost savings thanks to the elimination of additional power
supply
•
Flexible expansion through time signal distribution devices
•
Safe time synchronization
